Turkey remains Georgia’s main air traffic partner - United Airports' Gen/Dir

Levan Moseshvili, General Director of the United Airports of Georgia, stated that Turkey remains Georgia’s main air traffic partner and a strategic destination.

According to Moseshvili, this partnership will support the growth of tourist flows and boost economic development.

“The Turkish route is very important for Georgia. Turkey is a strategic country for us. In just the first eight months of this year, we served about 900,000 passengers traveling between the two countries, accounting for 45% of the total passenger flow between neighboring nations.

Accordingly, Turkey continues to be Georgia’s primary air traffic partner, which will further contribute to the growth of tourism and economic development,” Moseshvili said.

For reference, direct flights between the capitals of Georgia and Turkey have resumed. The first regular flight from Ankara to Tbilisi was operated by AJet, a low-cost subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, offering full-board service. Regular flights between the two capitals will now operate four times a week.
