Economy Minister meets Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation head
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili, as part of her official visit to the People’s Republic of China, held a meeting with the Chairman of Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation, Huanlong Chen. The sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Kvrivishvili introduced the company’s leadership to Georgia’s business and investment environment.
“During the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on the strategic partnership between Georgia and China. It was also noted that the free trade agreement between the two countries, along with the visa-free regime, further enhances the attractiveness of the Georgian market for investors,” the Ministry of Economy said in a statement.
According to the Ministry, the Chinese side expressed interest in Georgia’s oil and gas sector.
Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation is a major Chinese oil and gas company with a market capitalization of approximately $1.5 billion and 2P reserves estimated at 1.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent. The company operates in international markets and manages production assets across multiple countries.
