UAE views Georgia as strategic partner - Emirati Foreign Minister
The United Arab Emirates views Georgia as a strategic partner, said on Thursday Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, the UAE minister of state for foreign affairs following a meeting at Georgia’s ministry of economy and sustainable development.
He emphasised that relations between the two countries carry strategic importance and delivered a message that business activity in the UAE has returned to normal.
“The relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Georgia is of strategic importance to us. We came with the message that business activity in the Emirates has returned to normal. At the meeting, we discussed many opportunities for cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Georgia. The meeting focused on the progress achieved in the real estate sector and port activities”, the minister said.
“The conversation also touched on the partnership between the two countries in the areas of energy, tourism and aviation. In addition, we discussed cooperation at the regional level and how the United Arab Emirates can support the development of energy, rail and logistics connections in the region”, he continued.
As Al Hajeri added, ports remained one of the top priorities, with one of the Emirates’ major players in the logistics sector, AD Port, having already invested in Georgia.
“As for other projects, for example, in the real estate sector, Eagle Hills is already well-established in the market and is actively trying to introduce the best practices and experience of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia”, he concluded.
