“It is important to emphasise that, as a result of constructive dialogue between the government and the business community, we have identified 15 essential consumer products. Special sections will be introduced in the chain markets where these 15 goods will be available at discounted prices,” stated Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Georgian Government Administration.
As Zhorzholiani also pointed out, the government and the parliamentary commission established to monitor prices have been working actively.
“Problems related to consumer prices have been identified. It is significant that, as a result of dialogue between the government and businesses, fifteen primary consumption products, those most vital to consumers, have been pinpointed. Special areas will be set up in the chain markets to showcase these fifteen discounted goods. This represents a short-term achievement. We believe that efforts must continue so that we can attain a sustainable, long-term solution to pricing concerns,” added Levan Zhorzholiani.
