Ameriabank named the Best Bank in Armenia for 2026 by Global Finance magazine
Ameriabank was named the Best Bank in Armenia by Global Finance magazine in its 33rd annual awards for the World’s Best Banks. The winning 23 banks were chosen in nearly 150 countries and territories with consideration of criteria such as growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, business development and innovation. The opinions of equity analysts, credit rating analysts, banking consultants, and others involved in the industry were considered as well.
According to Global Finance, the winners of this year’s awards are those banks that attended carefully to their customers’ needs in difficult markets and accomplished strong results while laying the foundations for future success. The magazine emphasizes that the winning organizations managed their assets and liabilities in a savvy way in light of consistent uncertainty over tariffs and global trade.
“The global banking sector continues to demonstrate resilience despite geopolitical volatility and growing fintech competition,” - said Joseph D. Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance. “The Best Bank Awards 2026 honor the institutions that best manage their assets and liabilities while investing in digital innovation and artificial intelligence to meet the changing needs of their clients.”
Ameriabank has been awarded the Best Bank of Armenia for the 11th time.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to Global Finance for this prestigious award. This achievement is a recognition of our commitment to maintaining human-centricity in a changing environment, as well as developing digital platforms and keeping pace with technological innovations. Being named the best bank in Armenia once again is very honorable and at the same time binding for us. Ameriabank remains committed to the mission of providing our clients with world-class financial services and business solutions”, - Artak Hanesyan, Chairman of the Management Board-CEO at Ameriabank, commented.
To note, Ameriabank, as part of Lion Finance Group (LFG), has already officially joined the FTSE 100 Index of one of the world’s leading stock exchanges, the London Stock Exchange, on March 20, 2026, after market closure. The change took effect on March 23, 2026.
