According to preliminary data, the volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Georgia amounted to US$468.8 million in Q2 2026, which is 23.2% lower than the revised figure for Q2 2025. The decline was mainly driven by a decrease in reinvestment.
In Q2 2026, equity capital amounted to US$210.5 million, accounting for 44.9% of total FDI. Reinvestment amounted to US$300.5 million, representing 64.1% of total FDI.
According to preliminary data, China ranked first among investor countries in Q2 2026, with US$219.5 million, accounting for 46.8% of total FDI. The United Kingdom ranked second, with US$123.5 million (26.3%), while the United Arab Emirates ranked third, with US$47.7 million (10.2%).
According to preliminary data, the financial and insurance activities sector attracted the largest amount of FDI in Q2 2026, totaling US$207.6 million (44.3%). The real estate sector ranked second, with US$119.9 million (25.6%), followed by the manufacturing sector, with US$59.0 million (12.6%).

Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Irakli Nadareishvili, is attending the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2026) in Beijing, where Georgia features its inaugural national pavilion.
Organised by the Enterprise Georgia agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the country’s debut participation is supported by the Embassy of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China, the Georgian National Tourism Administration, and the National Wine Agency.
At the Georgian pavilion, Deputy Minister Nadareishvili hosted Tang Wenhong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, who sampled Georgian wine on display. During the visit, the Vice Mayor was briefed on Georgia’s investment landscape and business environment.
CIFTIS is a premier international platform for trade in services, bringing together government agencies, international organisations, and corporate leaders.
Centred on the theme “Global Services, Shared Prosperity,” this year’s fair showcases 90 countries, regions, and international organisations, featuring over 1,800 participating companies on site.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, visitors to the Georgian national pavilion can explore insights into the country’s economy, business climate, and investment opportunities, as well as its strategic transport and logistics assets along the Middle Corridor, its innovation and tech ecosystem, tourism highlights, 8,000-year wine-making heritage, and export potential across goods and services.
