Georgia's economy grew by 9.3% over past 5 years thanks to Government’s economic policy - Georgian Gov’t Administration Head
Levan Zhorzholiani, the Head of the Georgian Government Administration, on Tuesday said Georgia’s economy had grown by 9.3% over the past five years, attributing the performance to the Government's economic policy, infrastructure investment and a stable business environment.
Speaking to journalists, Zhorzholiani noted that Georgia continued to rank among the leading countries in international economic growth forecasts.
“International rankings consistently show that Georgia is expected to be among the leading countries in terms of economic growth in the coming years. Over the past five years, our economy grew by 9.3%. We are also seeing very positive results in the first five months of this year. This is the result of the sound economic policy pursued by the Georgian Government, as well as investments in infrastructure”, he said.
Zhorzholiani further emphasised that the Government had also recorded significant growth in foreign direct investment, which was driven by the stable environment that has been created in the country.
“Georgia represents an island of peace not only in the South Caucasus but across the wider region. Accordingly, this ensures that Georgia will continue to achieve significantly higher economic growth than many other countries in the coming years, and we are working to maintain this trend”, Zhorzholiani noted.
