Georgian Economy Minister says Anaklia deep sea port construction work in active phase
Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Tuesday said the construction work of the Anaklia deep sea port, being implemented by the Georgian Government, was already in an active phase.
In her remarks, Kvrivishvili noted that the Government had a declared policy to receive the first ship in the Anaklia deep sea port in 2029, emphasizing the importance of systematically continuing to develop the country's transport and logistics infrastructure in this regard.
“Today, the construction of the Anaklia Port, which is being implemented by the Georgian government, is already in an active phase. You know that we have a declared policy to receive the first ship in the Anaklia deep sea port in 2029, and for this it is important to systematically continue the development of our transport and logistics infrastructure, be it port, rail or road infrastructure, so that Georgia can provide its partner countries with the infrastructure and services that represent an important link in the supply chain, the main connecting function between Asia and Europe”, she concluded.

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, has met with the Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade, Jagoda Lazarević, according to information released by the Ministry of Economy.
The ministry stated that during the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for deepening economic cooperation, trade, and economic ties, as well as collaboration in the tourism and transport sectors.
“Mariam Kvrivishvili highlighted the positive momentum in economic relations between Georgia and Serbia. Particular attention was paid to the ongoing negotiations for a bilateral free trade agreement, which is expected to boost trade turnover significantly.
Mariam Kvrivishvili also introduced the Serbian delegation to Georgia’s favourable investment climate.
When discussing cooperation in tourism and transport, the parties noted that the number of Serbian tourists visiting Georgia is growing.
Furthermore, direct flights play a vital role in stimulating tourist flows and strengthening business ties between the two nations,” the Ministry of Economy statement read.
