Georgian Economy Minister says Shanghai-Tbilisi flights highlight growing Georgia-China economic ties
Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Monday said the launch of direct Shanghai-Tbilisi flights demonstrated the tangible results of the strategic partnership between Georgia and China, highlighting stronger economic ties, growing trade and increased connectivity.
In her remarks following the launch of the inaugural Shanghai-Tbilisi flight by China Eastern Airlines, one of China’s largest carriers, which began operating the route on July 15, Kvrivishvili said the Government would continue efforts to further strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries.
“This day clearly reflects the tangible results of our strategic cooperation. Direct flights, stronger economic ties, increased trade turnover, as well as active connectivity in the transport and logistics sectors are a clear demonstration of what strategic cooperation between countries truly means. We highly value the partnership between our two countries and will continue working to further expand trade and economic relations between Georgia and China”, Kvrivishvili noted.
