“The strategic partnership between Georgia and China is driving forward economic cooperation between the two nations,” Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze stated, summarising the visit to China.
Arveladze pointed out that recent high-level reciprocal visits have provided a major boost to bilateral economic cooperation.
“We had the opportunity to hold high-level meetings with representatives from both the public and private sectors. We engaged in high-level discussions with the Minister of Transport and the Vice Minister of Commerce to review concrete mechanisms for cooperation and explore major strategic projects offering future opportunities for joint initiatives. We also agreed to set up dedicated working groups that will focus on targeted areas. This will specifically involve strengthening trade ties and promoting the export of key Georgian-made products to the Chinese market,” Arveladze said.
According to Arveladze, establishing these working groups will play a key role in deepening bilateral economic cooperation.
“These working groups will accelerate processes that help promote our products across various digital platforms in China, facilitate participation in trade exhibitions, and foster business contacts through organised trade missions,” Arveladze added.

Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili and Genadi Arveladze held a meeting with representatives of JD.com, one of China’s largest e-commerce and supply chain technology companies, the Ministry of Economy reports.
According to the Ministry, the meeting was held as part of Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili’s visit to the People’s Republic of China.
“The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation, including the possibility of Georgian producers placing their products in various premium listings on JD.com’s e-commerce platform.
The parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation and develop an action plan to promote and facilitate the sale of Georgian products on the platform.
JD.com’s main areas of activity include e-commerce, logistics and supply chain services, industrial services, and others.
The meeting was also attended by Georgian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Paata Kalandadze,” the Ministry of Economy said.
