Study and Get Employed program opens registration for spring semester
The Study and Get Employed program of the Tbilisi City Hall opens registration for the spring semester from March 17 to April 1, offering over 80 free courses.
A memorandum was signed between Tbilisi City Hall and the Georgian Business Association, which envisages the involvement of the private sector in the implementation of the program in addition to state institutions.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and Georgian Business Association President Soso Pkhakadze signed the memorandum. The program aims to train and retrain specialists to eliminate deficiencies on the labour market.
“More than 15,000 graduates and 75% employed – this is the indicator we have achieved in recent years, after the launch of the Study and Get Employed program. This year, about 2,000 Tbilisi residents will join this significant program, who will take more than 80 popular courses completely free of charge,” Kakha Kaladze said.
Tbilisi Mayor added that the Municipality, within the scope of its capabilities, will do its best to support the education of youngsters and their development.
Based on the recent adjustment, this year, the minimum age for participation in the program has been set at 16 years instead of 18. A career consulting centre operates for the graduates to assist the program participants in communicating with potential employers.
Taking into account modern global trends and local needs, two priority spheres were observed for this year’s enrolment – technology transformation and energy efficiency.

Successful master's students' stipend to rise to one thousand lari

Changes to the “Student Education Financing Programme” will take effect from the fast-approaching autumn semester of this year, with the stipend for successful master’s students rising from 562.5 lari to one thousand lari per semester.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze explained at today’s session of the municipal government that a new programme, “Young Scientists for Tbilisi”, will be launched.
“Under this programme, we will provide research grants to young researchers working on solving the capital’s challenges and developing innovative ideas, with areas of need to be identified annually based on municipal requirements. The programme financing the studies of students who secured their place at state or private higher education institutions before the 2026–2027 academic year will also continue,” said Kakha Kaladze.
He further explained that the municipal city hall covers tuition fees every semester for students who are socially vulnerable, members of large families, or have disability status.
“Under the Student Education Financing Programme, this year 1,280 socially vulnerable students, more than 500 students from large families, and up to 50 students with disabilities received funding. We also welcome the reform initiated in this area by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, which provides for full coverage of tuition fees at public universities. We believe this change will significantly increase both the accessibility and quality of higher education,” the Mayor of Tbilisi noted.
