Armenian PM Pashinyan praises strong ties with Georgia ahead of election results

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has praised the strong ties between Yerevan and Tbilisi, describing the current relationship with Georgia as exceptionally deep and positive.

Speaking to journalists after casting his ballot, Pashinyan responded to a question from Imedi TV regarding the future of bilateral relations between the two neighbors if his party secures a victory in the elections.

“We have a very good relationship with Georgia. I honestly do not know what could be better or deeper than the relationship we currently share”, Pashinyan stated.

The Prime Minister emphasiსed that the partnership spans a wide array of sectors and expressed his commitment to taking these ties to the next level.

“There are numerous political and strategic issues on which we will continue our cooperation. We will bring these connections even closer and deepen them further”, the Armenian Premier added.

Strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey and prospects for its further development were discussed on Monday between Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and her Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan within the framework of the Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkey trilateral format in Istanbul.

The officials noted that sectoral cooperation between Georgia and Turkey was progressing positively.

The meeting also focused on the importance of bilateral cooperation in the development of the Middle Corridor and the successful implementation of related strategic projects.

During the discussions, emphasis was placed on ongoing developments in the region and on the role of Georgia and Türkiye in promoting peace and stable development in the region.

The ministers expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. 

Botchorishvili thanked her Turkish counterpart for the high-level organization and warm hospitality.
