Barbara Voss appointed as new German Ambassador to Georgia
Barbara Voss has been appointed as the new German Ambassador to Georgia, according to information published on the embassy’s official website.
From 2023 to 2026, Barbara Voss served as Consul General at the German Consulate General in Kolkata, India. Before that, between 2019 and 2023, she held the post of Deputy Head of the Department for Cultural and Media Cooperation with the Maghreb, Near and Middle East region at the Federal Foreign Office.

The U.S. Department of State published the 2026 Fiscal Transparency Report, according to which Georgia is among 139 countries which meet minimum fiscal transparency requirements.
The report assesses the government’s efforts to publicly disclose key budget documents, the public availability of natural resource extraction contracts, and public availability of public procurement contracts, etc.
