CEC assigns numbers to political entities running in October 3 by-elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) assigned numbers to political entities which registered to participate in the October 3 Municipal council by-elections.

According to the CEC, Strong Georgia -Lelo will run under number 9, while Georgian Dream will run under number 41.

The political entities have a deadline of no later than 30 days before the elections (September 3) to nominate candidates. Candidates for majoritarian MP seats must be submitted to the respective district election commissions.

Municipal council by-elections will be held in Vani, Tsalka, Dmanisi, and Akhmeta on October 3, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced on August 14.

Seven polling stations will open for the by-elections; electronic verification and vote-counting devices will be used at four of them. Voters will elect four majoritarian members to the municipal councils of the respective municipalities.
