“The achievements we see across Georgian Railway today are the collective fruit of the dedication shown by generations of railway workers. By government decision, every employee working on the rail lines will receive a 20 per cent pay increase starting in 2027,” declared Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze during his address at the Railway Worker’s Day ceremony.
As the Head of Government emphasised, successive generations of railway staff have devoted themselves to a vital national mission for 154 years.
“Today, I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to every railway worker, those who ensure the smooth, safe operation of our railways day in and day out, often under exceedingly tough conditions. In this regard, I am pleased to announce our decision: from 2027, the wages of all operational line personnel will be increased by 20 per cent. I would like to thank Mr Lasha for bringing forward this initiative. I express my sincere thanks to our valued railway workers for your hard work and selfless dedication to our nation. I wish you all a very happy Railway Workers’ Day,” Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
