Georgia's PM meets with representatives of U.S. State Department
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met with representatives of the United States Department of State.
According to the Georgian government, the meeting focused on the importance of resetting relations between Georgia and the United States and of building a strategic partnership grounded in a concrete roadmap.
“The Head of Government once again reaffirmed the Georgian government’s readiness to renew bilateral relations on a clean slate, founded on mutual respect.
It was noted that the strong interest shown by the U.S. State Department in Georgia is welcome, as reflected in the recent high level of engagement and contacts.
Georgia’s role as a trustworthy and reliable partner in the region was underscored. The Prime Minister stated that Georgia stands ready to continue contributing to efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region,” the Georgian government’s statement reads.
The meeting was also attended by Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, and the Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
