Georgian PM arrives in Kazakhstan on official visit
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit on Monday.
He was welcomed at Astana International Airport by Kazakh Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev.
An official welcoming ceremony is scheduled for later today at the Palace of Independence, where Kobakhidze will be hosted by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The programme includes both one-on-one and expanded-format talks between the two leaders, followed by the signing of bilateral agreements covering cooperation in various fields.
During the visit, Kobakhidze is also set to meet Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, with members of both countries’ cabinets taking part in the discussions.
He is accompanied by a delegation that includes Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University, who is currently visiting Georgia, the Government Administration reported.
The meeting focused on the reforms underway in the country, investment and tourism potential of Georgia and the progress achieved by the country across a range of sectors.
The discussion also highlighted the efforts of the Government of Georgia to promote peace and stability in the region.
The meeting was attended by Mariam Kvrivishvil, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of Government Administration.
