Georgian PM, Turkish President discuss regional projects, economic cooperation
The high level of the Georgia-Turkey strategic partnership and successful cooperation across various fields were discussed on Tuesday during a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in New York.
Particular attention was paid to the positive dynamics in the development of political and economic relations between the two countries.
It was noted that Turkey remains Georgia’s largest trading partner.
The sides also discussed joint strategic projects of regional importance that contribute significantly to the development of the region and the strengthening of regional connectivity.
In this context, the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was highlighted, with the railway now fully operational.
The meeting also covered cooperation in the transport and energy sectors.
The sides underscored the importance of peace for the sustainable and stable development of the region.
