image Georgia among countries which meet Fiscal Transparency requirements - U.S. Department of State report

14.08.2026.20:03

The U.S. Department of State published the 2026 Fiscal Transparency Report, according to which Georgia is among 139 countries which meet minimum fiscal transparency requirements.

The report assesses the government’s efforts to publicly disclose key budget documents, the public availability of natural resource extraction contracts, and public availability of public procurement contracts, etc.

Fiscal transparency is a critical element of effective public financial management, helps build market confidence, and underpins economic sustainability.

It fosters greater government accountability by providing a window into government budgets, helping citizens hold their leadership accountable and facilitating better public debate.
