Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Friday praised Georgia’s economic performance, saying the country’s impressive growth despite the challenging global economic environment is the result of the Georgian Government’s consistent and effective work.
In his remarks during joint talks with the Georgian Prime Minister, Mirziyoyev noted that Georgia was an important partner and a reliable pillar for Uzbekistan in the South Caucasus region.
“I would like to thank our Georgian friends for the warm welcome. On behalf of the Uzbek people and myself, I sincerely thank you for awarding me the country’s high state honor - the Order of the Golden Fleece”, he said.
The President highlighted that elevating Georgian-Uzbek relations to the level of a strategic partnership is a major achievement.
“Georgia’s impressive economic accomplishments deserve special recognition, and I sincerely congratulate you on them. Despite the global economic situation, achieving such results is undoubtedly the outcome of the Government’s - your entire team’s - consistent and effective work. Today, Georgia rightfully ranks among the countries with the fastest-growing economies. Of course, behind this success lies the effort of visionary politicians under your leadership”, he noted.
