Construction of residential building for 150 IDP families in Borjomi nears completion
Construction and renovation works on a modern residential building in Borjomi designed to accommodate 150 internally displaced families are nearing completion, Georgia’s Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs said.
The ministry said work to improve the surrounding infrastructure will begin in the near future to create a fully equipped living environment.
The newly built residential complex will provide fully renovated apartments to IDP families currently living in inadequate conditions in so-called compact settlement facilities across Borjomi Municipality.
Once construction is completed, the housing needs of IDP families living in Borjomi will be fully addressed, according to the ministry.
Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Giorgi Tsagareishvili and Director of the IDP Agency Davit Kaikatsishvili inspected the ongoing construction works on site.
In addition to Borjomi, residential complexes for internally displaced families are also being constructed in three other cities — Tbilisi, Zugdidi and Rustavi.

Reconstruction of 4.4 km road launched in Tsalka

Reconstruction of the 4.4 kilometer-long Imera-Bareti-Tejisi-Chivtkilisa-Khachkoi-Gumbati-Avranlo road has been launched at the order of the Roads Department of Georgian Infrastructure Ministry in the Tsalka Municipality.
According to the Roads Department, reconstruction works will improve movement quality, traffic safety, reduce travel time and transportation expenditures.
The project involves the construction of a two-lane roadway, reinforced concrete ditches and channels, culverts, and a gabion wall. Additionally, appropriate road signs will be installed, and road markings will be applied.
The project is financed from the state budget at the value of 4.6 million GEL. The reconstruction works will be completed in 2027.
