GD-Kartu Foundation continues charity project aimed at breeding wild birds on verge of extinction, establishing their populations in wild nature
Within the charitable project, Bidzina Ivanishvili (Founder and Honorary Chair of the Georgian Dream party), his wife Ekaterine Khvedelidze, Bera Ivanishvili’s wife Nanuka Gudavadze and sons Beruka and Dadu Ivanishvilis released a Colchian pheasant, a hazel grouse, and a chukar partridge into the Mtatsminda forest.
According to the GD, the initiative aims to breed wild birds on the verge of extinction and establish their populations in the wild.
With the funding of the Katu Foundation, founded by Ivanishvilis family, a unique breeding facility operates in Sachkhere, where endangered wild birds—the Colchian pheasant, the hazel grouse, and the chukar partridge- are raised and prepared for release into the wild.
As the GD said in its released information, the goal of the initiative is to return birds of a unique breed to their natural habitat, facilitate their breeding, and gradually restore and expand the population.
“The activity is a significant step towards restoring the natural ecosystem and preserving biodiversity,” the GD said.

Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili is holding meetings with international investment banks on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.
According to the Ministry of Finance, as part of the “Small Talk” symposium organised by Bank of America (BofA), the minister presented an overview of Georgia’s macroeconomic and fiscal indicators as well as medium-term plans to interested investment banks and asset managers.
“Discussions focused on Georgia’s current macroeconomic and fiscal metrics, medium-term forecasts, conditions across international and emerging financial markets, and the domestic investment climate.
Bilateral meetings were also held with senior executives from ICBC and Nomura, focusing on opportunities to place Georgian securities across international capital markets, including the Asian market.
The inclusion of lari-denominated Georgian government bonds in J.P. Morgan’s new GBI-EM Edge index in September this year will further boost investor interest.
The discussions also touched on Georgia’s initiatives across domestic and international capital markets to diversify funding sources and expand its investor base.
Deputy Minister of Finance Ekaterine Guntsadze also attended the meetings on behalf of the Ministry,” the ministry stated.
