Georgian Education Minister participates in Transforming Education Summit in Paris

Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs Givi Mikanadze participated in the UN and UNESCO Transforming Education Summit convened at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

According to the Ministry, in his speech, Givi Mikanadze touched on ongoing education reform, achieved progress and scheduled initiatives.

Givi Mikanadze emphasized the importance of deepening international cooperation to enhance the quality of education and discussed projects implemented within the framework of the partnership with UNESCO, as well as future plans.

Georgian Ambassador to France and Georgia’s Permanent Representative in UNESCO, Irakli Kurashvili, attended the summit.

Givi Mikanadze held bilateral meetings with Director-General of UNESCO Khaled El-Enany and Assistant Director-General for Education Qun Chen (China).

image Georgian carrier OneClick Airways launches bi-weekly direct flights to Tel Aviv

The Georgian airline OneClick Airways has commenced scheduled flight operations from Tbilisi International Airport, TAV Georgia, the operating company for Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports, reported.

According to the operator, the airline will operate direct flights between the Georgian and Israeli capitals twice a week.

“Tel Aviv to Tbilisi flights will operate every Thursday and Sunday, while Tbilisi to Tel Aviv flights are scheduled every Monday and Friday. OneClick Airways has already transported its inaugural passengers from the Israeli capital to Tbilisi aboard a Boeing 737 aircraft. To mark the arrival of the maiden flight, a symbolic celebratory event was organised by TAV Georgia, the operating company of Tbilisi and Batumi airports,” the statement noted.
