NEA warns of heavy rains in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi regions
Heavy rains are expected from the second half of August 25 till the end of August 26 in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions, the National Environment Agency (NEA) reported.
According to weather forecasters, thunderstorms and strong winds are possible.
The NEA warned that heavy rains could cause swelling of small rivers and the formation and activation of landsliding processes (theat level – medium).

Reconstruction of 4.4 km road launched in Tsalka

Reconstruction of the 4.4 kilometer-long Imera-Bareti-Tejisi-Chivtkilisa-Khachkoi-Gumbati-Avranlo road has been launched at the order of the Roads Department of Georgian Infrastructure Ministry in the Tsalka Municipality.
According to the Roads Department, reconstruction works will improve movement quality, traffic safety, reduce travel time and transportation expenditures.
The project involves the construction of a two-lane roadway, reinforced concrete ditches and channels, culverts, and a gabion wall. Additionally, appropriate road signs will be installed, and road markings will be applied.
The project is financed from the state budget at the value of 4.6 million GEL. The reconstruction works will be completed in 2027.
