The Wounded Warrior Support Foundation continues its active work in support of wounded and injured military servicemen and their families. Donations received in 2026 amounted to GEL 570,387. From January to October, the Foundation allocated GEL 381,414 to 76 wounded and injured warriors, as well as to beneficiaries’ underage children and spouses.

During the reporting period, the Foundation’s assistance comprised:

GEL 149,482 — co-financing jointly with the Ministry of Defense;

GEL 64,677 — emergency surgeries;

GEL 7,484 — medicines;

GEL 41,036 — medical services;

GEL 78,004 — support for beneficiaries’ underage children;

GEL 24,851 — support for beneficiaries’ spouses;

GEL 12,991 — professional re-skilling;

GEL 2,887 — adaptation of the living environment.

.Silknet founded the Wounded Warrior Support Foundation in 2018 and contributes GEL 300,000 annually to its activities. A range of companies and private individuals donate to the Foundation. Donations are directed toward supporting beneficiaries in healthcare, education, professional re-skilling and social adaptation.

The Foundation is an active supporter of the wounded warrior sports teams of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and helps improve their training conditions. This year, the Foundation handed over sports wheelchairs to the wheelchair rugby team, equipped the archery team with specialized sports equipment on several occasions, and purchased sports wheelchairs for the wheelchair basketball teams. The wounded warrior sports teams are now preparing for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, UK.

The Wounded Warrior Support Foundation devotes particular attention to the education and professional re-skilling of wounded warriors and their spouses. The Foundation also regularly finances a range of educational courses for beneficiaries’ underage children.

In September, a dedicated course in computer programming and English was developed for the underage children of veterans. The one-year program started in September and will give several dozen teenagers the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and gain new skills.

The educational programs of the SABADO Leadership Academy are available free of charge to the underage children of the Foundation’s beneficiaries. Last year the Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the SABADO Leadership Academy, established on the initiative of Davit Bejuashvili’s Education Fund.

Under the memorandum, the Academy admitted 19 students, who joined eight thematic programs over 2025–2026. Among them are local self-government, management and economics, diplomacy and international relations, crisis management, and political systems and their governance. The students also have access to the international programs SABADO delivers in partnership with Harvard and Stanford Universities. These include a leadership course (Harvard) and political psychology in social media (Stanford).

The annual charity run in support of wounded warriors has become a tradition. It aims to raise public awareness of the Foundation. For the fourth year running, military attachés of various countries, together with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and the Wounded Warrior Support Foundation, have held the event on a larger scale. All proceeds from registration are transferred in full to the Wounded Warrior Support Foundation.

The Foundation consistently ensures responsible reporting on its activities. Its financial and annual reports are publicly available on the Foundation’s website.

image Over 323,000 tonnes of grapes processed across Georgia - National Wine Agency

30.10.2026.22:19

As of 30 October, close to 323,300 tonnes of grapes have been processed across Georgia, according to the National Wine Agency.

Harvesting operations remain in full swing in the western region of Lechkhumi, where roughly 500 tonnes of grapes have been processed to date. Total yields for the Lechkhumi region are projected to reach around 1,300 tonnes. Both private wineries and the state-owned Harvest Management Company, which steps in to purchase surplus yield from local growers, procure grapes.

In Kakheti, the nation’s primary winemaking hub, the harvest is ending, with nearly 314,500 tonnes processed. Quality metrics remain exceptionally high: damaged or low-grade grapes account for just 0.7% of the total harvest, with the remainder classified as high- or mid-grade. The Harvest Management Company has been purchasing grapes from individual growers based on strict quality-linked pricing:

Saperavi: Grapes with a sugar content of at least 20% fetch GEL 1.50 per kilogram; those between 16% and 20% are priced at GEL 1.00; while grapes below 16% receive GEL 0.50.

Rkatsiteli and other wine varieties: Grapes with sugar levels of 19% or higher are bought at GEL 1.30 per kg; those between 16% and 19% receive GEL 0.90; and those under 16% are priced at GEL 0.50.

Meanwhile, harvesting has officially concluded in Racha, where nearly 3,600 tonnes of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties—the sole ingredients for Khvanchkara wine—were processed.

The government implemented a subsidy program for the Racha region to encourage private sector participation and ensure efficient harvesting. Under the scheme, wineries qualify for state subsidies if they purchase and process at least three tonnes of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grown within the Khvanchkara micro-zone, paying growers a minimum price of GEL 8.00 per kilogram. Qualified wine companies receive a government subsidy of GEL 4.00 per kilogram for both varieties.
