Georgia–Romania friendly ends in 1:1 draw, emotional farewell for captain Guram Kashia
The Georgia national football team played a friendly match against the Romania national football team at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi. The match ended in a 1–1 draw.
The game also marked an emotional farewell for long-time captain Guram Kashia, who made 129 appearances for the national team. After the match, he said goodbye to fans, closing a major chapter of his international career.

Following the match, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named the new captain of the national team.
The Georgia national football team will play its next friendly match against the Bahrain national football team on June 5 at 20:00.

The Georgian Weightlifting National Federation announced that Lado Dzimtseishvili has been crowned European champion and set a new continental record at the ongoing European Youth (U17) Weightlifting Championships in Pristina, Kosovo.
Representing Georgia in the 85 kg weight category, Dzimtseishvili competed under the guidance of national team head coach Zurab Antauri.
The Georgian athlete secured the bronze medal in the snatch with a lift of 139 kg, earning his first podium finish of the competition.
He then claimed gold in the clean and jerk with a lift of 175 kg, becoming European champion in the discipline and setting a new European record.
Dzimtseishvili capped off his successful performance by winning the overall title with a combined total of 314 kg across the two lifts, securing another European championship victory for Georgia.
