German wine professionals tour Georgia with support from National Wine Agency
17.06.2026.18:18
A delegation of wine professionals, journalists, bloggers, and influencers from Germany has recently visited Georgia. The tour was financed by the National Wine Agency and organised by its contractor, the marketing firm ff.k Public Relations.
According to the National Wine Agency, during the visit, the nine-member group travelled to the Kartli and Kakheti regions, visiting various wine companies and traditional cellars. They sampled a diverse array of Georgian wine styles and gained first-hand insight into the unique craftsmanship and process of making qvevri (traditional clay vessels).
The National Wine Agency initiated its partnership with the German agency ff.k Public Relations in 2021, aiming to popularise Georgian wine and boost its export potential. This active promotional campaign continues throughout the current year. As part of the strategy, tasting seminars are being hosted across various German cities for wine professionals, trade representatives, and consumers alike. Additionally, Georgian wine is being showcased at major international exhibitions, backed by targeted advertising and media campaigns, alongside tailored wine tours to Georgia for members of the press, sommeliers, and retailers.
Germany currently ranks among Georgia’s top five wine export markets, driven by a steady rise in sales volume. Georgia exported nearly 670,000 litres of wine to Germany between January and May this year, up 33% year-on-year.
